You can google for the 'Georgia Farmers and Consumers Market Bulletin' web site to get an idea of farmland parcels for sale. It isn't all encompassing, as it doesn't include sales through realtors, but it's a start and covers the entire state.

There's lots of different types of regions in this state. Coastal, mountainous, agricultural. The climate does differ and so does the way of life. I live in the atlanta metro area and all throughout my area are farms with horses and chickens and vegetables and fruit trees. Goats are pretty common too. So I think you can do that just about anywhere here. Compared to california, I'm sure you will find the cost of living here dirt cheap in comparison. What kind of atmosphere do you desire the most?

Yes I misspelled Candler.
Right now we manage a peach orchard in the desert area, no green lawns, lots of dust and in the 100's most of the summer & winters are fairly mild but can get down in the 20's in the winter. My husband doesn't like cold. We are orginally from Indiana and it's too cold in the winter.
The areas with mild winters would be great. I would like areas where I can get plenty of good animal manure and food wastes to feed my worms. If anyone knows of any fishing bait distributors I need that info.
Any info I can get will give me a good idea of where to start looking for farms.

I would say somewhere along the southeastern coastal part of the state. That's going to be the mildest winter you are looking for and there is a lot of fishing there as an industry, particularly near the SC border, so that might be the place to focus in on.

You may want to check the following web site. I found it on another garden web forum (homesteading, I think). It lists farms/land for sale all over the US and always has lots of items for Georgia. Also, they show real estate company listings.
