Seeds in ground now?

Hello,

If I want to start seeds now (which is late) so I can get flowers in the spring (eg: foxgloves, hollyhocks, hibiscus), do you think I can just throw the seeds in the ground now? or it's too late w/the weather & I need to start them in pots & store inside in the winter? ( alot of work with storing inside!)

Thanks for your advice.

Check out the Winter Sowing forum. It will have all the information you need to know about growing perennials from seed for spring planting!
I do not suggest throwing seed in the ground unless you have well prepared, well draining soil.
If not, the winter sowing method is pretty infalable! Hollyhocks are mainly biennial so you will not get flowers the first year out from planting.
