Gosh it's been a very long time since I was on garden web - so long that I had to re-register! So I'm still getting used to the changes and don't know what you're requirements are to ship them or pick them up. But I love Cannas and would be more than willing to take them off your hands if you still have any extras! Let me know what you need as far as like S&H or whatever if you're interested! I'm a big gardener but I've just started over with a brand new house, so I've just gotten my first set of seeds for the year, but I don't have too much to trade right now.

HI Bmmalone, I saw your post on the exchange site too and you mentioned digging them up so I'm curious, do you dig up your canna's and store them for the winter? I'm just NW of Atlanta and I have several, this was my second summer for them, and last year I just left them in, cut them down to about 2 ft, and mulched what was left really well, then in the spring, they all sprouted and them some - I ended up dividing them and moving them here, and there, and everywhere..and they all got to be between 7 to 9 ft tall, went up way past an 8Ft fence, they just got huge. Now I read somewhere that in our zone7 we are supposed to dig and store them..so maybe I just got lucky last year I don't know...I don't want to lose them, but, I can't really see digging them all up..do we really have to dig and store them here in the Altanta area or should I just take my changes one more year?

i have always left mine in the ground and they have been fine. The only reason i have dug these up is because they went a little crzy this year and i had a huge patch of them and they needed to be thinned out. Don't suppose you'd like some more would you???

Ha ha, no I don't think I need any right now, but thanks! :) I hear you about them going crazy this year, I guess it was just a good year for Canna's, or maybe a bad year, I guess that depends on how you look at it.

I'm in Athens actually so I don't drive into Atlanta that much b/c the traffic is so bad, but I might be able to arrange to drive in some time. What side of Atlanta do you live on??

    Hi bmmalone,

I live in East Cobb and would love some red cannas if you still have any available. We just bought a new house and I am starting over from scratch. Please let me know either way. Thank you.
