Heaths & Heathers

heathers in zone 4

Momothegardenhoe zone 5, Central NY

I am thinking of ordering some hardy Heaths and Heathers from

Rockspray Nursery...I have somewhat acid soil, fast draining on a slope, with pretty reliable snow cover in the winter. Do any of you have experience with how well these plants do in zone 4? Thanks for any info you can share!

It is my understanding that Calluna vulgaris (true heather) is fully hardy in zone 4.

Not all Erica (heath) varieties will be.

Rock Spray Nursery is in a cold zone and they should be a great source for which plants would do best for you and what if anything you need to do in winter. They are a very well known Heather nursery.
