From what I see on the web, including a message dated Oct 23 in the Tennessee forum, you sow them fresh.

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure so thought I'd ask.

I've never tried them but I seem to remember Hal Massie saying he sowed them directly on top of damp peat moss. He may have covered this with glass, I don't remember.
