I have a few questions before I can provide any thoughts. Are you talking about the window area towards the back in your photo? It would be so helpful to have an additional photo of that space. I would love to see the balance of the window seat to the table you currently have in that space, if that is the space you are needing help with. I have a few thoughts but first want to know if that is the space you want help with. Also, I would love to know what is bothing you about this space, so I can address those issues too.

If you remove the shelf above the windows, you can add fabric Roman shades and hang them high so when they stack back they don't block too much light but this would add warmth to your space.
