Some things, such as potatoes, store best in a cool, moist environment, as in a root cellar. The link below (link and scroll down)has a good table of storage conditions for various items. Unfortunately, it is not going to simplify your planning.

I store potatoes in the veg cripser of my fridge. Many last quite a long time. If the fridge is an older type that has no auto defrost cycle, you now have a decent storage unit with the moisture inside. The pickles, I ust assume are brine cure types which should be refrigerated (as most Claussen types). For squash, a dip in a mild chlorine bleach solution will help prevent surface mold. Squash do bruise, so handle them carefully.

For the pickles, I was going to use the refrig to store vinegar pickles, too. Most people say to use a pantry or something like that. I don't have anything cool enough outside like a shed and no space inside.

Just do not know what temp to set this on for everything I'm trying to store?
