First: wait until cooler Fall weather to ship plants... but not cold winter either.

Second: make sure you are allowed to ship your plants to another State - CA won't allow any plants or seeds unless you have the right licenses, inspections and papers. Most States won't let you ship plants you sell into them from another State either without the proper licence(s).

No problem there, its just fresh flowers which may technically be seeds. I don't think I need a license if I'm not selling them, or do I? That would be a pain in the butt. Anyways, I've traded plenty of seeds through mail, so it should be alright in regards to legality. Problem is the storage during transport. I'm afraid they might go bad. I can't wrap their stems in wet paper towels since they might grow moldy over the 3-4 days.

You might be OK then.... provided you aren't sending them to California.

The only things I can think of as to sending cut flowers:
1. Hydrate the flowers really good -- put the stems in a deep pot of water right up to the base of the blossoms and soak overnight;
2. There are plastic tubes that you fill with water and then slip on the end of each of the stems immediately after removing from bath;
3 Wrap in paper and ship immediately One-day Air.
