Curious about the countertop

Is this counter top really this thick? Or did you just do a dropped edge to make look it look chunky? I like how strong & striking it makes the kitchen look.

    Just a guess, but it looks like manmade quartz to me, and you can get that poured much thicker. Marble is the only stone you can easily double stack b/c it is light. My stone place charged 50 PLF to add an additional edge to give the illusion of thickness on my quartzite (very heavy natural stone.)

    The counter is Corian and has mitered corners. It was fabricated from material either 5/8" or 3/4" thick and had a plywood substrate.
