Aztec Grass Substitute?

I live in Jacksonville, FL. I have a half circle planter in the front of my house that I have planted several fashion azalea plants with a border of aztec grass (green/yellow mix). I'm not thrilled with how the aztec grass looks. Can anyone recommend another plant/grass that I could replace the aztec grass with that would go well with the azaleas? This area does get a lot of sun. Ideally this would be something that doesn't grow very high because I want the focal point to be the azaleas. I really appreciate the help!

My first thoughts on your question is the Azaleas that are planted in the sun. Azaleas do not do well where they receive bright sunlight. They do much better in shade.
Maybe rethink the entire bed?

The azaleas have done great. They are constantly blooming. Maybe they don't get as much sun as i assume, but there really isn't anything to provide shade. I have no intention of redoing the entire bed. Just need some ideas on replacement for the aztec grass. Thanks.

Have you a picture you can post? Sounds like you must have the new ever blooming azaleas. What about mondo grass?

Does anyone have a Zuni crepe myrtle growing in their yard? I am putting in a couple of new crepes and Zuni is the variety that has been suggested but I would like to see a picture of one growing in a yard and also some info on how it grows (how tall, upright shape, etc.) I have googled it but there seems to be a lot of different descriptions so I would like to know from someone that actually has one growing. Also I want to put something low growing in front of the crepes and was thinking dwarf nandina, but I need quite a few and they are expensive so I am up for other ideas. Maybe you can suggest something that would go with the nandinas so I wouldn't have to use so many. It is a rather large space that I will be planting. I will try to post a pic later. Gotta run.

How about blue eyed grass. It does bloom, but I don't think would compete with your azaleas.

The mondo grass looks nice, but I have heard it is very hard to get rid of if you ever want to replace it. Is that true?

I'm looking for something that isn't going to grow very tall. The azaleas that I have planted are on the smaller side for now and I don't plan on letting them get too big because of where they are planted. Does anyone know if blue fescue grows well in Jacksonville?
