    Hi Carolyn
Very nice cuttings.I like loheri,I keep taking it off my order list but I think I will for sure order it the next time.

Beautiful hoyas, Carolyn!! Do you keep that H. erythrina in very bright light? I figured you must live in Florida to have a hoya that RED...but, you're in zone 5, like me. Maybe I need to add that one to my wish list!! Thanks for sharing! Fondly, Patrick

Well, Patrick, I JUST got H. erythrina a couple of weeks ago . . . so it hasn't had time to revert back to green. I'm sure it will, soon. I am, indeed, in zone 5 . . . Northern Utah.

The shape of the leaves are LOVELY! As soon as it takes off, I'm more than happy to trade some of it. :)

How lucky to get Hoya loheri with flowers. My plant is still too small to bloom but I have been watering it's mount daily to try and get it to produce some peduncles. I have a feeling I may need to start a small potted one to get faster growth. It's a neat Hoya but it's tiny flowers make it less appealing to many I am sure. If you grow it in bright light it's leaves will turn dark red.

My Hoya erithrina is all green to but it's not in bright light. Your cutting looks amazing!

    Caroyln,

I use the same kind of self watering pots you do. Do you water from the bottom or top? Do you let any water sit in the bottom? With the hoyas I grow in hydroton I always keep water in the reservoir, but never sure what to do with the ones I don't grow in hydrton.

    Thanks!

    Kelly,

I water from the top until just a bit, then, when it starts to drip into the bottom, I fill the bottom, come back half an hour later and if there is any left, I drain it . . . or if it's empty, I add more, and check another half hour later, etc. No, I don't leave water in the reservoir.

These are not my favorite pots. I much prefer the 4/$1 ones from the dollar store . . . they are just little 3" biodegradable plastic pots with holes in the bottom. :)

Carolyn I got the Hoya sp. Kapit IML 1029 in last years order from the Liddles and I am very impressed with it. Mine is still settling in and has really only grown a few new leaves and a bit of vine but it is so different I know it will be one of my favorites.
    Congrats on the new cuttings.

    Mike,

I'm pretty sure H. sp. Kapit is my new favorite. I LOVE the leaves! I'm hoping it roots up well for me. :)

    H. siariae didn't travel too well . . . but I'm hoping it pulls through. I soaked it for about eight hours, yesterday before potting it. Hope that helps.

Anything is possible so don't give up. The Hoya elliptica cutting I got that I was absolutly sure would die has rooted just fine even though the only leaf looks terrible, it's more yellow than green. I had a friend tell me to hold on to that one till the bitter end because hers did the same thing, came back form the dead. Denise that means your elliptica cutting should pull through because I would hate to think it looked any worse than mine.

Ha-HA! I was wrong . . .it was NOT H. siariae, but H. bordenii that did not travel well. An unexpected addition . . .though one I wanted. :) But seems to be doing . . .okay. Much like H. fitchii, when I first received it. I'll not give up!

    Carolyn

PS If anyone has H. mindorensis they are willing to trade, it didn't make it to the box. Somehow, bordenii made it, instead. Anyone? Anyone? ;)
