the flooring will be replaced i have black rod iron handles that i could spray paint

i would go with an off-white because of the gold undertones. Stark white might be a little jarring. Personally, I like it when the hardware matches the cabinets, and I would paint the handles off white and try to buy new hinges in an off white. Painted hinges usually don't look good!

Off-white (try Benjamin Moore White Dove) with brushed nickel handles would look beautiful. You might even try it with the iron handles you have and see how you like it first.

The cabinets below are all in White Dove.

We also have ivory trim throughout our house, including some built in cabinets. We matched our kitchen cabinets to the trim color through the house, tying everything together.

Hi riverbloom, I would paint the cabinetry an antique white..This will add the undertone that you need to work with your counter top and your existing wall colour..If it is in the budget I would as suggested a brushed nickel handle..The drawer handles in roots and rafters photo would look fabulous on all your drawers..
