My petunias are doing great, but mine are also in window boxes and not mulched. We also have gotten a lot of rain in the past week.

Check your soil to see if it's dry. Maybe they need to be fed, try some miracle grow.

Mine are doing fine so far but a lot of people I know say they got aphids real bad this year. Maybe that is the problem.

I read that you need to cut back petunias 1/2 way in July. I didn't grow any this year.

Yes, cut them back, they get real leggy if you don't.

I didn't solve the mystery but my plants have recovered anyway. I don't know what else it could have been besides maybe a little extra rain. Next year I'm going to look for a petunia that doesn't get so demolished by rain. I saw once called Rainmaster in the Select Seeds catalogue. And thanks, I did cut them all back this weekend.
