This is the one I bought and my son gifted me with another plus the lid. It is thick stainless steel, heavy bottomed, and has a notch in the swinging handle to keep it rigid when pouring, though we wouldn't be doing it the way the photo shows! Even when making large batches of jam it is deep enough to keep the contents from boiling over. The lid is worth it because there are some recipes that require you "let it sit overnight" and it is almost air tight. After 4 years of very heavy use, they look like new and the one time I scorched the peach chutney in it, it was easy to clean out. Well worth the $80 or $90 w/lid.

That's the same one I bought - love Lee Valley stuff.

Mine looks brand new as well - I've had it at least 6 years if not longer.

I like the fact that the handles are spot welded on, not riveted, which gives you a nice smooth surface inside for scraping every last succulent drop out with a spatula.

I should have gotten the lid with it - I figured with all the lids we have, one would fit. A few do, but not quite as tightly as I would like.

I love mine. It will last forever.
