Yes Ed, sometimes I think the anticipation of the hummers arrival is the only thing that gets me through these bleak winter months. Planning for this years garden starts right after the holidays. Browsing seed catalogs, researching new plants to try, and visiting hummer web-sites are all I do this time of year. Yup, I have no life.

This is very exciting news to me. I just got interested in hummers over the summer when it was already pretty late to start ordering and planting. I'll be ordering lots of hummingbird attracting seeds & plants this winter.

There is one little hummer that has stayed here. My neighbor and I are enjoying watching it and keeping it fed. I can't wait until more arrive! We just got our yard finished this year, and the hummers seemed pleased with what I planted. I will be planting even more for them this year. An added bonus is that I have a new camera and lens arriving soon. I should be able to get some even better pics soon!

For those on the west coast and in the South West, Rufous are moving now. Check last years migration maps. On January 31 there were already Rufous in Washington state.

Can hardly wait until the 2006 Migration Map is posted. My first one last year was March 15.
