Hummingbird Garden

Humming birds left in 2 days

My hummingbirds returned last week, 2 days later they were gone. Crackles,starlings,cowbirds seemed to take over my feeders over the winter. The feeders are on the other side of the house, but a starling did make a nest in my grill,about 6 ft. from my hummingbird feeders.Is this why they left? They have been returning for years. Any ideas to get them back?

They may have still been in migration mode and just passing through for a fill up. The migration isn't nearly over yet. There are still a lot of hummers coming into the gulf coast.

That would make sense. They seemed very scared of the door opening and my dogs or me being outside. That surprised me because the last 2 years we could all sit on the deck and they were very relaxed about getting close to us. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
