Marilyn, I just heard that there have been a large influx of migrants coming in from the gulf coast including Fl. so I don't think you are too late.

Thanks Penny, I hope I will be able to attract some to my new feeder. What is the best time to watch out for them early morning or late afternoon? Or just any time?

Marilyn, I'm no longer in Central FL, but when I came here to VA, I was way late putting out a feeder. I didn't even know they were here. One morning I was out watering my flowers, and one peeped over the railing. I ran out that day and bought my feeder and had at least four separate hummers throughout the season. As far as I'm concerned, it's never too late (except if it's snowing, which it is unlikely to do there). Good luck.

They are most active at feeders just after dawn and just before sunset but will come to a feeder off and on throughout the day. If you also provide nectar plants you will see them throughout the day in your garden.
