Someone suggested Vicks Salve. My Mom passed a year ago and had a old jar in her belongings. I know this stuff was old. The instructions I read was put some on a couple of leaves. Well that might be okay if you have a couple of plants but not doable for the amount of plants I have.

I took some strips of green fabric and tied it to wires and put it through out the plants and on the fence,

I saw the deer walk up to the hosta and turn and walk away.. I will see if this fall and winter if they are so hungry they decide to eat regardless of what it smells like. It will not matter as long as I can get through the summer. They will come back the next Spring if I can keep the animals at bay through the Summer.

Good old Vicks Vapo-rub! Who knew? And you'll always have clear sinuses when you smell your flowers lol. Think I would prefer it to garlic spray.
