Hummingbird Garden

Is beekeeping consistent with feeding/watching hummers?

I am an avid gardener and enjoy feeding and watching our hummingbirds every season here in Bethesda, MD. I recently developed an interest in beekeeping as well. I know that hummingbirds are usually afraid of bees, but this would be honey bees, not wasps. Does anyone know if these two hobbies are consistent?

Why not? Hummers live and feed alongside bees constantly. And if you get specialized feeders that the bees can't get to, the hummers will have a ready nectar source that's "free of bees." Just my take...I don't really know if there's anything inconsistent with the two hobbies.

Just to close the loop here, I have a friend you does keep bees and said that there is nothing inconsistent between the two hobbies. I also posted the same question on the beekeeper forum and received the same feedback there. I already have a feeders that exclude the bees, so when next spring rolls around and after I have done the proper preparation, I am good to go.
