I'm Continually amazed!!.....

By hosta gardens! I was just out walking in my woodland garden and thinking,"it's hard to believe that just a couple months ago this was a barren area of woods"! Hostas come up from the ground and grow into a lush tropical rainforest looking garden in just a few short months! Irregardless of the hail storm back in April,they stormed back and you still have to look closely to see the damage. Not the best pic,but you get the idea! Phil

Amazing! They have come back as we all hoped they would.

Not all hosta gardeners were a fortunate as you when they had hail storms.

By the way is one of your legs getting shorter to help you walk on the mountain side? lol

Absolutely dreamy...as in that is how I dream of my garden being someday!! I am getting there slowly, but wow, you have no weeds! It looks terrific, Phil.

Phil I really love your serene woodland garden path. Everything looks so natural, like it just belongs. My folks have a steep hill with a path that leads down to a pond. I've been planting my extra seedlings along it and I'm hoping in a few years it looks similar to this wonderful garden. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Thanks,everyone! Cyn,I have lots of weeds,it's just so hard to weed on the side of the hill! I planted most of this part of the garden in 2003,and I don't add any more because it's too hard to walk between plants up the hill,without stepping on another plant. Most of my newest plants are in a different part of the garden,which was started in 2006. That one is not as steep,nor shady. I keep moving plants out of this part of the garden,because the area is getting too shady. I will take some more pics of the new garden later. The one with the "overhead view" is part of the new garden. Thanks for all the kind comments. Phil

Beautiful Phil,

I'm so glad your gardens survived the hail. You posted a picture a bit ago mentioning the hail damage on the hostas (can't remember which one). I thought I should comment then that it didn't look nearly as bad as the early cutworm damage I was seeing on a few of my plants. Fortunately that's done now and - crossing my fingers - I've seen only ONE slug so far!
