Hummingbird Garden

Where did they go???

I live in Northwest Ohio and have not seen my hummers in over a week. Could they be nesting?? I have plenty of feeders and have planted many of the flowers and shrubs they love. They were here quite a bit since early June but now they seemed to have left??? Any ideas?? TIA

Maybe there is something in bloom locally that's a temporary attraction. Currently on my road the trumpet vine is in full shout, a hundred yards of it or so. Since it really got cracking I've noticed less hummer activity around home. Eventually the trumpet music will die down, and a bunch of hungover hangdog hummers will be buzzing around the yard again, looking for a free meal. I bet this happens to you too.

I haven't seen any in my yard for about a week also. The weather has been very hot here the past few days - about 100* ...I wonder if that has anything to do with it??? I want my hummers back!
