Met with my cousins today, and one has moved to a retirement home in Charleston SC, and misses her garden. Hummers are coming because she has feeders out, but she has trouble with seed feeders because the birds poop on the balcony under hers - I suggested getting a vine for the balcony - what is the name of the one that has been so successful on the forum? I am going back next weekend and may take her a B&B - surely it will be hardy there - also sugested doing a peanut feeder and letting the birds poop on HER balcony - she doesn't want to do that - LOL -

She could try a trumpet vine and/or a crossvine. If I had room on my balcony I'd have them (already have 2 honeysuckles). Of course the honeysuckle is a good one too as my little one loves my goldflame. The Alabama crimson honeysuckle is supposedly a favorite too.

There are a bunch of annuals/tender perennials like Scarlet Runner Beans, Hyacinth Beans, morning glories, Cardinal Climbers, and Cypress vine that are favorites as well.

Ellery what a thoughtful person you are to want to make a small "hummer heaven" for your cousin. I know you will do a good job.
