I live in the high desert of AZ the last 2 yrs we're lucky if we get 2 hummers to the feeder. (I only have 1 tree) This summer after I started making the mix instead of using store bought. My feeder has gone from a dive to a 5 star hummer diner! I have 10 hummers now every day. I have a new one that is dark with half a red beak. They are also very friendly, which surprised me. Each day we go out and sit on the porch swing, one will come right up in front of our face and look at us. Last month I got to see a rufus while pet sitting in the next town over. It was so beautiful. The birds also buzz right around me when I refill the feeder each time.
