Very little attention is required for hydrangeas in our area other than to keep them well watered in our dry summers (hard to think of that now with all the rain we've received lately :-)). If you haven't already, you can remove the faded flowerheads down to the first set of buds as well as any obviously dead wood. You can also apply amendments now to adjust the flower color on the macrophylla if you are so inclined. Otherwise, wait a bit and mulch well with compost when the soils warm up. That's about it!
