Whouuohouohoh, I'm all dizzzzzyyyy. Hehe! ;) That's Trumpet Vine. I can never keep them straight as to which varieties actually produce seed pods. I have Trumpet Creeper, looks the same, no pods yet. I'm not sure if it's an age thing though. They did take about 3 years to bloom for the first time.

I have heard that they can take up to 5 yrs. to bloom from seed.

Hmmm...looks like campsis radicans? I started seeds off back in January and it grew quickly. Had it in a gallon pot and transplanted it at the ranch...it started blooming in July. Don't guess it's the same thing - this one surely didn't take five years to bloom.

Maybe it has something to do with USDA zones...out here in south Texas we have pretty good weather all year around - but the summers do tend to scorch everything!

Yes it is a Trumpet vine alright.

One word of warning....
Be absolutely sure you want this to try and take over your yard or you are willing to try to contain it.

I thought I could limit the vines' area but soon found out I would have a war if I didn't stop it while it was still somewhat manageable. I pulled it up and was shocked when I kept on pulling up the roots as they were longer than the green vines. I'm still pulling up new sprouts that are coming from roots I didn't get.

Agree about it being invasive, be careful because I recently saw a whole yard (the house was for sale and empty) that had been taken over by it.
