Eleanor's VF-11...can't find it!

Hi all,

I really want to buy some of Eleanor's VF-11, but absolutely NO nurseries in my area have any (or have even heard of it). I also called Rite-Aid stores, because that was listed on her site as a distributor, but they don't have it either. None of the other places listed exist in my area. I even called Eleanor herself but got an answering machine and no call back (and also read on here that she only sells in bulk).

So I have 2 questions. One, does anyone in my area (Queens) know of any places that sell it? Two, if anyone has access to a place that sells it, would there be a way to buy it for me and send it? I would first send you postage, money for the products, and any additional money for your time and effort in picking it up. Please email me if you are interested in helping me out via the second way. I am looking for a container (doesn't matter what size) and also a spritzer bottle of it if that exists.

Thanks,

Gabi

Gabi, my sister is a distributer of VF-11. I am sure she would do all of the above for you if you are interested please let me know. We are in MT though, but if that doesn't matter I will get the info from her. You won't be sorry, VF-11 really does seem to work like magic!!

Thanks Sara...I appreciate it. However, I luckily did another search last night and found an online seller. I got it from Reed's Greenhouse, and they sell it for $7.99 (for a 16 oz. bottle and a bonus 8 oz. bottle). Not sure if that was a good deal, but I was desperate, because I've been reading about what a miracle this stuff is. If I like it (and I'm sure I will), I'm hoping I'll be able to find a place that sells it in bulk.

    Well Gabi,

We REALLY have to stop meeting like this ;>)

I would have turned you on to the sample size from Eleanor's herself (sounds like you didn't try this yet). Great sample deal $3 for 8 Oz (you send her $3, she sends the sample). I tried it & liked it (whereas I personally didn't find Superthirve all it's cracked up to be).

Am currently trying to buy it locally myself. Understand Ace Hardware carries it, know an Ace man who used to work locally, now works in Tribeca, told me Ace does an Internet ship deal whereby I could have them ship to my local hardware type store. Unfortunately, Ace's site didn't list it either, but my friend the hardware store guy had said it'd get some gallons (has to order 4), if I'd take 2 of them, I'm working on a second person to take the 2nd gallon. Interestingly, my hardware friend would order it into Tribeca, but lives out in Brooklyn, near me & didn't want me to have to lug home 1 gallon on the train. I have to follow-up on this. (I would prefer smaller than a gallon if possible, but then what the hey, if it'll bloom my Hoyas, it's worth it, I'm HOPING it'll bloom my Hoyas anyway.)

    Hi PG :)

Well, I tried calling Eleanor, but she never called me back. So no sample for me. But to tell you the truth, I trust you all, and from what you've said, this stuff is magic. So what do I need a sample for?!

As of now I'm all set with 24 ounces, but I'm sure that'll run out soon enough. So if you need me to take the other gallon...no problem (assuming the price is right!). How much is it, and how would I go about getting it from you? Thanks...

    Well Gabi,

You're a dear to offer, but it's prob. a lot to haul a gallon from here (Manhattan/Tribeca) to Queens, even on the subway, tho' if I can get my Ace friend to order it, that's what I'll be doing. I believe he quoted me $15 per gallon.

Tho' I am not at all affiliated w/ Eleanor's nor have any financial interest in this WHATSOEVER, for any other interested Hoya lovers, here's where to write for the 8 oz. sample:

    "Eleanor's of California
    PO Box 18340
    San Jose, CA 95158-8340"

Interested parties should send her $3.00 for mailing costs & she specifically asks for a phone #, along w/ the address, (in case she can't read your handwriting & needs to call). Prob. couldn't hurt to mention you heard of it here at GW's Hoya Forum.

Sorry, but I don't know how to add a link. The product's site, should you care to read on this further is at:

$15/gallon!! Wow, that's a deal PG! I bought 4 gallons direct from Eleanor and it was $16/gallon plus shipping which brought it to around $20/gallon. But I suppose when they buy in bulk, they get a better deal. After I turned my sis on to it, she sells it at her nursery about 30 miles away and gets $24/gallon. That's still a good deal, though, when you compare it to buying the smaller quantities. Based on 24 oz. for $8, that makes it about $43/gallon...

It's a great product, so buy with confidence, Gabi.

    Thanks PG.
I did go to her site. She actually called me back yesterday and I told her I ordered it online. About the gallons...if the deal does come through, just shoot me an email and I can always come and pick it up. I wouldn't expect you to lug it to Queens! But that's a great deal...15 dollars for a gallon. I'm definitely in with ya.

Oh, OK, Gabi, Good to know that you'd like in if I can make this happen. I misspoke, I'll be hauling mine by subway to Bklyn, I'd expect, that's what I meant to say (not to you in Queens, ;>))

Oh Gabi, while we're here, I guess you won't be making the Indoor Mtg next Tues, to which I invited you (at 6:30) due to your working hrs., booo-hoooo & bummer, would have liked to me ya after all this.

Maybe it's worth you're checking out if there are any similar groups on Long Island (didn't you say that's where you work?). I'm guessing the folks in Queens come to the Manhattan meetings, esp. since I've met some of 'em, but the LI folks prob. meet out there. Maybe you can do a Google search for something like that (Indoor Gardening Societies on Long Island or in Nassau County).

Hi Denise, thanks for puttin' up the link (I really have got to learn how to do that). (So, sorry to hear in yr. last EM, will be in touch again soon.)

    Gabi,

Pls. pardon my typo, had to exit quickly, meant to say would have liked to MEET ya after all this.

Thanks for the suggestion of looking for a group on LI. The city is much closer to where I live in Queens, but because I work in LI I'm farther from the city on workdays. It's very likely that I won't be able to make it on Tuesday...I'll most likely be here at work till after 6pm. I wish the meetings were later :(
But I really appreciate your invite.
Anyway, let me know when/if the gallon deal comes through (and I will hopefully have some rooted jade cuttings to give you! They still haven't rooted but they're still alive). Have a very happy holiday.

I've been using VF-11 for several weeks. The first time I used it, plants started 'jumping'. This product is unbelievable! I raise Brugmansia and Datura; instead of using all the other foods, they only get their daily misting, and weekly feedings with VF-11. All my Christmas Cactus, Epiphyllum, Hoya Australis, Episcia, Ficus, Crape Myrtle, and various other plants and trees, receive weekly waterings. In four weeks, the results are uncanny.

I would recommend VF-11 to anyone with any kind of plants or trees. Eleanor is a very remarkable lady, and she will call you back, if you leave a message.

I order my VF-11 directly from Eleanor. Since I have so many plants, I get 4 gallons and it's much less expensive to order directly from Eleanor. If anyone in my area (8) needs a smaller quantity, I'd be happy to add it to my next order, and ship it to you directly. I mean to shout..........VF-11 is the best product I've ever used on plants.

I think Ace Hardware distributes Eleanors, so if you have a hardware store or garden center in your area that is an Ace Hardware distributer, you can get it from them. Alot of them ( hardware stores ) are affiliated with Ace, you will see signs in the store, Ace brand tools and other items, or you could just ask...yellow page ads for stores will say "Ace" on them somewhere.

The store itself may not have ELeanors, but the main Ace warehouse, in Ickybod Iowa or some such place, will have it....you can ask your store to put in an order for you when they order other stuff from the Ace warehouse.

This is all relevent of course ONLY if you can find a hardware store or garden center in your area that has not been put out of business by the Big Box Stores.

BTW, I did see that Pirategirl mentioned Ace, I got my info on how to order from my garden center and they said they could order as little as one bottle for me so I don't know if that helps anyone looking, if you don't want to commit to a large amount. I never got to the actual ordering stage, so I don't know if it would have went thru without any problems.

Ace will no longer handle this product (can't remember why, other than they said they couldn't/wouldn't) at least not in the state of NY (where I am). This is per an Ace manager who I've known for at least 10 yrs, who was going to order it for me & a couple of others. They DID place my order, but ACE HQ or corporate or whomever, came back & said no can do.

I ended up getting it from Charlies Greenhouse (PNW somewhere, courtesy of Gabi's referral if I recall correctly). They'd been out of gallons & had them back-ordered, but were kind enough to fill my order w/ qts. & pints for the equivalent amount & same price.

I too am fast believing that E VF-11 Rocks. My plants too were noticibly different OVERNIGHT. Firmer, perkier & more erect; I'm using it on all things I grow (I grow indoors only): a few tropicals, many succulents & Hoyas. Some Euphorbia millis (moratii or marlothii?) I've had for a few yrs., which bloom consistently all yr. long has just abt double the number of blooms its had before VF-11!

VF-11 is a main-stay at my house. My plants have been on it for a little over 2 years and most of you have probably noticed I toot Eleanor's horn at every opportunity. I wish I knew what "magic" they put in it to make it so different from other products.

Just brought home two more gallons from my sis's nursery...

Hmm...now I'm really curious to try it. I've been reading about VF-11 on these boards for a while now.

I have been using Spray-n-grow for a few months now and I see quite a difference in my plants this spring. A lot of them are blooming profusely- much more so than last year.

But I don't know if I can rave about it as all of you do with VF-11. I'm going to go on a hunt for this stuff now.

    Hi NotaN,

You might safe yrself the search, if you're in NYC, I've already done it. Try Charley Greenhouse I just mentioned above, but in the interim, pls. search for Eleanor's VF-11's own site, it'll provide you w/ the address where you can send yr. $3 (for shipping, I believe) for a quite generous sample bottle (8 oz.), which since you have few plants at this point should go a long way. Then you can order or maybe we can get some together. Probably good to mention you learned of it here at Hoya Forum of GardenWeb, so she can see we're raving abt her & it.

Denise, shouldn't we be getting points towards an E VF-11 commission some time soon? >;). BTW, I haven't forgotten I owe you some EMs for months now (am horrified, embarrassed, etc.)

Anyway, I too am getting on the tooting VF-11's horn, it's pretty amazing stuff!

It's funny cause I was just telling someone about this stuff and that I get it at Charley's Greenhouse (online) like PG said I had mentioned a while ago. But I always confuse Charley's and Reed's. I actually don't get mine at Charley's (although they DO sell it and they might be a great store..but I have no experience with them). Sorry for the mix-up.

Anyway, I get mine from Reed's Greenhouse, and they sell a 16oz bottle for $7.99 with a bonus 8oz bottle for free. Just thought I'd mention that cause I think it's a great deal. They are also always very fast with their delivery. I'll attach a link to their page where they sell Eleanor's.

I just checked Charley's and they sell 16oz for 7.35 and a gallon for 24.95. I don't think Reed's sells anything larger than 16oz, so if you want to buy in bulk, Charley's may be better. But you can't beat the bonus bottle at Reed's!

    Ok...that's it...information overload :)

You're right PG, an 8 oz bottle will go a while for me. I will write and ask for a sample.

And hopefully I'll be as ecstatic with it, and yeah, perhaps we can all get some together.....if that's more convenient.

It is sold out everywhere! Did they go out of business?

Looks like you can buy a big old bottle of it on their website. The smallest bottle says Out of Stock.

Eleanor's VF-11 - DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEIR WEBSITE THEY ARE STEALING YOUR MONEY. I am so frustrated. I ordered the product in November of 2022 - they have not sent it and will not answer my emails or my calls. I am furious and they charged my card for the product. If anyone has any way to get a hold of someone please lmk - thank you!

    Thanks for the heads up!

I am laughing too hard for my own good over here! It had to be said and I'm glad someone did!

Go ahead - laugh, but I'll be the envy of all the men once I spray this stuff on me! If it wasn't x-rated, I'd take it on shark tank! Look out folks, here comes Perky Bill....
