Is there anything above your feeder? I've noticed my bird bath water under the tree becomes an ugly yellowish-brown color when it rains.

My feeder is hanging on my balcony, so half of my feeder is outside, half - under the other balcony. It shouldn't be coming anything from above, but I cannot be sure.

I have never heard of or experienced such a thing. Fresh, normal nectar is clear of course and should be changed if it becomes cloudy at all. Here in GA, the heat is a constant cause of cloudiness, and I have to change my nectar frequently. Are you mixing 1/4 cup granulated sugar in 1 cup tap water? Perhaps you should try using bottled water once to see if there is any problem with the water. Is your feeder a plastic one? Sometimes they do yellow with age and exposure to sunglight. It's such an unusual issue. I cannot imagine why it would happen. Let us know if you figure out what is going wrong.

Thank you. Yes, it's strange. When it was warm and sunny - I had no problems. When it's rainy and dark - I do.
