Will impatiens survive in acidic soil?

I am looking for an appropriate flower to plant at the base of a camellia container. I want something to spruce up that corner of my balcony when the camellia is not in season. I love impatients because they just flower, flower, flower all year long but I am wondering if they can withstand the acidic soil that camelias require? Thoughts?

Jamie- we have a glut of acid soil in my zone, and I've even planted them without supplementing the soil and they still thrive. Clay, acid, sun, rain, shade, heat- I love this plant more than any other. The only thing I watch for is lack of water or they wilt. Other than that if I could only grow one flower, this would be the one.

We planted an emerald cedar in a pot and put impatience around it. We can't believe how well it has done compared to our other impatience plants in our yard.

Yep, they prefer slightly acidic soil and I've personally have found they actually tolerate a lot of different conditions, except drought. Keep them watered.
