HELP!!! Hydrangeas are looking horrible!!

We planted about 10 hydrangeas this past spring around our home. Every plant is currently blooming and the actual plant and leaves look well. The only problem is that the actual mopheads are turning brown after they bloom. Its like they dry up and are dying. The leaves of the plants are healthy and doing well. I know they get about 6 hrs morning sun and afternoon shade. I am forced to keep them watered daily because of the extreme heat. Is this common for traditional mop head hydrangeas? I have the blushing bride, glowing embers, big daddy (very pretty but again blooms are turning brown), endless summer, and a nikko blue. I have 2 of some of these and they are all in the same situation. I planted one of the glowing embers in a pot and put it in more shade than the other three and they are in the same boat. Please help!! We are freaking out!!! Is it a bug or fungus?
