I know nothing bout Guinea's either except that they can be awfully noisy!! :) I assume just like regular hens they would need shelter of some kind or become prey to nocturnal hunters...

I was also wondering what effect the presence of domesticated birds like guineas has on songbirds and other wild birds, including a flock of crows. I've got quite a menagerie that visits my feeder, and they probably already help to some extent with suppressing Japanese beetles and other bugs, and I'd hate to scare them off. Your comments about guineas being noisy made me think of that.

Of COURSE they would be easy pickings for predators!!!! And I suspect that you would have to have protection from the weather where you are, as well. If you have never been around a bunch of guineas then you have NO idea of the noise they make. Time for plan #2!

Yep, having realized the local hawks would also be a problem, even in daytime, I'm canning this idea. Will continue to concentrate on overall plant health and attracting beneficial insects. Thanks!
