Is this an iris?

20 years ago

I have recently moved to Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and have 'come accross' some beautiful 'wild flowers'. The have an 'orchid like bloom that is yellow with 'undistinct' markings. They have a strap like leaf like the 'Walking Iis' but the flower doesn't touch the ground.

It has a seed pod.The flower lasts only one day.
