Blue J prices are great, their starts are average size and grow well, but don't forget to check out their "SOLD OUT" list, it is huge.

I placed my first order with Blue J Iris last year. The rhizomes weren't huge, but they were a good size, firm and healthy. All seemed to settle in quickly despite our awful drought that lasted into fall. Blue J was also very generous with bonus plants. I made sure to check their "sold out list" before I sent my order in and received all the irises I had chosen with no subs. I did place another order with them this year. Blue J's shipping charged appear to be higher than other growers, but it's for priority shipping only whereas the other growers give you the option of priority or standard delivery.

If you want huge rhizomes try Superstition Iris Gardens. I've ordered from Rick and Roger for several years now and have been exceptionally pleased. The highest percentage of first year blooms have been from my Superstition rhizomes. I've also had lots of luck ordering from Aitkens, Napa and Snowpeak. Some of the rhizomes from Snowpeak were a bit smaller than those of the same varities from the other growers, but they have done well for me.

I've ordered from Sheri 2 or 3 times - if one turns out to be mis-named she is always happy to send the right one the next year. Be sure to have a long sub list because she does not grow great quantities of each variety. I will order from her in the future. Her website continues to improve, ie, photos, descriptions, number of irises.

I just want to say how grateful I am for all of the work Sheri and the Blue J crew put into the online catalog. They go above and beyond what they need to do to sell irises: they provide a great resource! The pictures are wonderful--often multiple pictures so that you really get a sense of the flower. I was trying to ID an iris from a show last year and found the Blue J site really useful. And they do have many iris that you won't find anywhere else.
