The best bloom I had on Louisianas occurred in the spring after I transplanted all of them over the Thanksgiving holidays. That glorious bloom was about five months after they were transplanted.

I re-did about half of my LAs last fall and about half of these are going to bloom.

I have some in pots that I wanted to save and couldn't find space for in the garden. Some of them are budding. So, it most definitely is not true that it takes two years for LAs to bloom. Yes, they like an acid soil.

Thanks Walter, I put an acid fertilizer on them today and then watered them. I did notice that the majority (all but two) of the variety of LA irises I planted are mid/late blooming. So maybe I still have a chance.
