Hi there,
In my experience green doesn't appear very well with TBs. However, the smaller SDBs do express a great deal of green hues. My favorite is SDB Green Spot by P. Cook, 1951.
There are others but this is the best IMHO.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not an iris person (I have them and love them, but I'm not the experts you guys are) and I don't understand your abbreviations.

LOL!

Sorry about that. Msaking an assumption and you know what that does. :)

Anyhow, TB is tall bearded iris. SDB is standard dwarf bearded iris. For a full list of bearded iris types see the American Iris Society website at http://www.irises.org/classification.htm

Everything you didn't know you wanted to know and a lot more.

Bakemom: Try an iris called "Bayberry Candle" - the Historic Iris site describes it like this: "A rich, brassy, green bicolor with chartreuse lime standards and brighter gold and olive-green falls. I have always liked it.

Bakemom: A short, early-blooming one (Standard dwarf bearded, ie,SDB) just bloomed here in West Texas for me, called Hocus Pocus, (introduced in 76 by B. Hager). The falls (bottom part that hangs out like a tongue) is very olive green, and the beards are blue. I bought it from Riverview a few years ago.
