Yesterday a LA iris put out a shoot to bloom - HOORAY!!!!

I didn't know the bloom stem comes out of the fan leaf. I thought a stem would come out of the base.

Anyway, I don't know which one is blooming because when I received my irises, the name of each was written on one of the fan leafs. Naturally, that leaf is gone and they all have bunches of new fans. So I guess I'll have to wait to see what's what when they bloom. I'll have to make a chart I suppose.

So - one bloom starting so far. I'm soooooooo happy *big smile*!!

Yeah Loretta! Isn't it exciting? I have so many buds on my TBs! The majority of my Iris will be first year bloom for me and I'm really excited. Aspen is showing color at the tip of the bud so I suppose it will open soon, Ziggy is another and so many more. I will be posting pics of them all.
Meanwhile, I'm wondering if anybody has a clue as to the names of these pretties that are now blooming in my garden:

I have/had (I think it winter killed) one similar if not exactly like your first one. Your SDM *might* be Brass Tacks. I don't have a photo off hand, so I'm only going by memory.
Beautiful iris. I can't wait till mine get going.
