I'm growing tomato using hydroponics, when I'm starting the seeds, I just soaked some toilet paper with water and put my tomato seeds on, most of the time the seeds can germinate, however, some time the roots may get inside the toilet paper and when I pull the shoots out for transplant, the root may break. I want to do this process in a more professional way, instead of toilet paper, what sort of starting substrate can I use (shoots will be transplanted to and grow in hydroponic system)?
