New to Hydrangeas (Pruning)

Hi,

I've had three PeeGee hydrangeas in a bed. This is their third year. They have established quite well and give me BIG flowers every year.

BUT.... the flowers are always sitting on the ground with a few unflowering branches sticking straight up from the middle.

How can I prune these so they'll stand up be proud hydrangeas instead of whimpy ones? Or should I just stake them next year. Does anyone have a link to a diagram on how to prune them? I'm just not good with pruning unless I have a diagram or a demo.

Thanks.
