Many big koi enthusiast would say that the pond is too small for koi. Just remember if you are going to add koi that they do grow, and grow big. Be careful of even adding 3 because they do spawn. If you are adding koi, be sure that you have a good filter system to handle the extra load. Koi are beautiful but the bigger the fish, the more waste. Lastly, don't be surprised if you build a bigger pond to accompany the needs of your fish..)

i don't know if i've been lucky or what. i have a 800gal pond and 5 koi between 12 -20 in long. the 3x3x2ft bio filter keeps the water clean for about 5yr , then it's time to drag out the shovel,angel hair filter and asprin.
