The lighting really made a big difference. We went from two small overhead lights in the kitchen to pot lights, pendant lights and under cabinets lighting. The under cabinet ones we use the most. I've attached here some pictures of our kitchen table area. I still want to improve on the area above the bench in the wall unit. We are planning to paint it a different colour for some contrast. This wall was empty before and by adding the bench in the wall unit we could move the table over and make more usable space in the kitchen.
