My iris wish list

I went to the iris show today & looked through the iris blooming in their iris garden. Usually they let people go through the garden & pre-order, but not this year. Just make a wish list & show up when they have their sale I guess. Nice thing about seeing them in person, some I wouldn't think that much of from a picture, but they are gorgeous in person. I may have to go back to the garden tomorrow to make sure I got down all I want.

Debating on getting Elainelope. I wonder if those unusual splashed forms take longer to bloom. I got Elainelope & Anaconda Love 3 years ago & neither has bloomed yet. They both look like they should bloom, healthy enough, just ornery. Batik tends to do that for me too. I've had it many years now, every time I divide it, it takes 3 years to bloom. I do tend to like the unusual colors :)

Harvest Maiden is so pretty! I love the blended colors on it. I agree with you about seeing iris portraits versus seeing a clump in a garden- they look like entirely different plants.

I bet it was great seeing the iris garden in bloom. Don't really have any advice on what you should get, I am sure all your new ones will be lovely.

I have Blackalicious which I love...my favorite "black", and I have Bye Bye love, a really good bloomer for me...one of the late ones (still blooming multiple stalks, in fact)

It was probably a picture of yours that made me look for Blackalicious, Kay. Although it really stood out in the garden. There were other black iris, but that was bigger than any, & such nice substance. I saw someone's picture of Blueberry Filly, & remembered it being at the sale. Wasn't in bloom, but it is on my list now too. I meant to go back today for another look. There was one, such an unusual blue/periwinkle color, but the look of the petal itself was so attractive. I think it was Rhinelander, but I want to make sure I get that one :)
The garden was really pretty Rita, although it really isn't huge. They actually have it in front of a local grade school. I guess the iris society takes care of it, it always looks really nice.
I almost didn't notice Harvest Maiden, Renee. The only bloom stalk had fallen over & I was about to leave when I spotted it. Now I just have to find out when they set the actual sale date.
