green iris?

Hi, I'm trying to locate a green bearded iris. I saw them in a catalog a few years back, MI Bulb I believe... I need them as a memorial plant for our 4 year old niece that recently and unexpectedly passed away. Green was her favorite color... Can you help me find where to get them? Thank you.

Some newer irises are quite green now: Keppel's Mysterious Ways, Secret Rites, Irish Gig, Bamboo Shadows. And Blyth's Devil's Own.

can you recommend where to find them online? I looked up those names on ebay but no luck (you never know!) Thanks for the fast reply! :)

thank you. I contacted Napa... the iris that I had seen a few years ago was solid green where Green and Gifted has cream and brown. I do appreciate your help though, and thank you for your kind words.

I also am looking for a truly green iris...not yellow/green, blue/green, etc. I contacted Mr. Keppel to ask him about the ones mentioned here and he responded telling me that he knew of no pea green irises available. If anybody has any more information, I would desperately appreicate it. I was going to order Mr. Keppel's catalog, but if he himself tells me that there are none, I think that is a waste of my time and money.

Nothing pea green and not likely to ever be one. I am sure that, if you saw a photo of one, it was colour enhanced.
Irish bells are a good green, and some hellebores. There are very few green flowers.

There are irises that are greenish yellow or a greenish brown. True green irises (like grass green) do not exist. Places like Michigan Bulb Co., Brecks and a few others claim that they have a "green" iris, but the photos are simply altered to appear greener than they really are. Green irises = gimmicks, there simply aren't any.

When and if they'll ever exist, it'll be the rave of the iris world, but currently its not happening.

    Sincerely,
    Carlos

Sorry to be cross posting, but I got this into the wrong post the first time. I meant to go here, but got into an older thread. You can tell I'm a Newbie.

My favorite green iris is Sea Monster by hybridizer, Lynda Miller, in Indiana - Miller's Manor Gardens,Roger & Lynda Miller,12788 E. 191 Street,Noblesville IN 46060, she no longer has it, but she might have other green ones.

The only place I know of, that has it, is in England. I placed an order, but they haven't gotten enough order to make it profitable to ship to the states. Their home page is:

Does anyone know of another source for this iris? I've been trying to find it for two years now.

To me it still looks yellow and brown.

I purchased a collection from MI Bulb in 1989 that included "Limelight" as a freebe. It was my favorite in the group. It truly was green throughout with no brown or yellow. The head was the size of a softball. Yes, Dorothy, there is a green iris. Mine is at my ex's, 1,000 miles away. MI Bulb recently told me they no longer carry this item. Anyone know a current source.

I found a little bit of information on this iris on Dave's Garden.

Dave's Garden member JoanJ has a comment added for it. If you aren't a member of Dave's Garden and need me to send her a D-mail message for you asking if she still has this iris, my email address is: cathysplants@gmail.com
