The proper name is Clivia miniata. Kaffir lily was a slang name from South Africa, it is akin to saying the N word to a black person. It really shouldn't be used anymore.
All that aside, they really are lovely plants and have beautiful flowers. Fairly easy to grow, too!

Perhaps you should contact the L.A. County Arboretum in Arcadia, California to inform them of this. I merely read the label that was on the name tag naming the plant at the arboretum, and they have it listed as a Kaffir Lily.
