I assume they're already planted outside?

Did you have this problem last year?

It looks like rust to me, but rust is rare on limas.

It could possibly be anthracnose. (Scroll down to see a picture.)

But your best ID bet is to take a damaged plant, roots and all, to your county extension office or a nearby university with a botany department (if there is one) or even a good nursery where the people know their stuff, and get an ID.

They were sprouted from seed indoors, and transplanted early March, so they have been outside for a month.

This is my first veg garden ever, so there is no previous year info.

The top of the leaf looks like rust, only problem is the bottom does not, all pictures on google show rust on the bottom of the leaf.

I couldn't find any pics on google for anthracnose that looked like my spots. And anthracnose is shown on the branches and beans, I have no beans yet so it is only on my leaves.

I only have two lima bean plants, one is ok, the other is not. I would hate to have to pull up my only plants for maybe being over protective.

I will contact the extension, perhaps pics or a few leaves will suffice.
