I have three plant stands that are equipped with overdriven fluorescent light fixtures. One plant stand with eight overdriven T8 tubes per 24" x 48" shelf is located here in the office where this computer is located.

The overdriven T8 fluorescents put out the equivalent of twelve T8s per shelf, which is great for growing larger plants for a good head start here in our short growing season in Maine. I enjoy the advantage of almost daylight lighting from the plant stand, and I enjoy caring for the seedlings.

I think a side benefit is that all that fluorescent light seems to prevent SAD. And, of course, as an enthusiastic gardener I am always optimistic that this year's garden will be the best ever. No SAD for me.
