Lovin' Iris today

Taking a walk around my toasted garden I took special notice of the Iris. They are putting on new growth. Six weeks with no rain, and days and days of 100+ temps and there they are being real troopers giving hope for the future. If I knew how to write an ode I'd compose one for Iris today. Ann

Yay for Iris! And they are evergreen, wonderful winter interest. A beautiful back drop for winter bulbs!

I feel your pain Ann, we had 8 summers in a row just like that. Finally this year we are getting rain now. Everything everywhere is green. Now, I'm in Louisiana so we have water everywhere. But last year our water tables were getting low! No one could hardly believe it. Everywhere the weather is upside down. I am so sorry to hear about your drought. It is especially sad for us gardeners when the weather doesn't cooperate. Watering with tap water just barely keeps the garden alive. Mine hate the high concentrations of chlorine. Hope you get some rain soon!
