I had the same problem with Flagrano Filet beans - planted them twice - gave them a week each time and only saw 1 bean sprout of about 40 seeds planted each time. I even pre-sprouted some thinking maybe a year old seed was the problem and they germinated... Mine were planted next to other beans at the same time and all of those sprouted fine. Very odd...

I took the empty bean envelope back to the nursery where I bought it, hoping they would offer a refund/replacement, but they just said that lots of people were complaining about lots of different beans not coming up this year, due to us having so much rain here. Did you have alot of rain in your area this spring?

No, quite the opposite actually. I have spent most of my time watering the garden - very dry and hot. We got a 1/4 inch of rain last night - the first in about 3 weeks! I might escape watering today... I think our soil may be just too hot for them with 100+ temps here in GA.

With my peas I sometimes have problems with mice eating the seed from below.
Sometimes I wonder about what kind of seed we're getting.
Last year, I received the wrong cucumber seed from Park seed, which was unfortunate, because I can only grow county fair cucs. Any other cuc brings so many cucumber beetles that inject wilt into all my vining crops and they all die. So I was fairly irritated.
Oh well. I hope this was just a fluke. I've replanted some Blue Lake bush beans I had there instead of filet. Hopefully they'll sprout.
I'll do a rain dance for you!
