Ok, this question can't be so hard to answer for all you lily lovers.

Sometimes the lily buds can dry up from lack of water, from lack of sunlight, or from extreme temperature changes (disease can also do it). The bad news is that it wont bloom this season. Sorry.

Ok. The buds that were present at the top of the lily when it was growing out of the bulb have dried up. I just noticed that there are several small pointed buds growing around the dry buds though. I also see a few in between the lower leaves and the stem of the plant. They don't look like the flower buds that were originally there. What are they?

Were they buds? did they bloom? we bought an easter lily with 2 flowers n 6 buds. the flowers have died n the buds are dry at theneck but one is trying to open. will they bloom?
