total newbie needs help with these shelves...

Hi all!

Bought these shelves that I'm in love with, but the racks are too close together to allow me to mount lights underneath the shelves.

I'm wondering what my options are in terms of lighting from the sides or even from behind? It had occured to me that I could mount a few lights on the wall behind the shelves, even.

Anyone have any ideas or tips?

I should mention that I have never tried growing under artificial lights before, so please, speak to me as if I were six years old or something. The only reason I'm trying this is because I've run out of space in my condo near the windows!
