Hiding them ...

...after the summer display. I love brilliant lilies, but the big ones (4ft) have to be left in place for a long time after blooming, don't they? Can anyone suggest an attractive foliage perennial that I can plant among the lilies (on top of them actually) that will help to mask the drying stems and leaves, but will permit the lilies to grow up and through it next year?
