What depth for my lilies?

What's the deepest depth I can put my Lillie's in. My pond is 42" deep. Not sure what kind of Lillie's I have other they are potted they are perennials and they float on surface and do not grow out of water. Medium sun area. Can I go the full 42"?

You would get more information on water lilies and water plants on the Pond and Aquatics forum.

Most of us here likely deal with lilies that are planted in the ground to a depth of 6-8" depending on the size of the bulb.
